We currently have the need for a FT and a PT evening CNA/Med Aide (2p-10p), with every other weekend. In this vital role, you will provide direct assistance with daily living activities, administer medications safely, and support overall well-being in a dynamic long-term care or assisted living environment. Your energetic and caring approach will help create a warm, respectful atmosphere that promotes dignity and independence for those we serve. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to develop your skills in a supportive setting committed to excellence in patient care. Responsibilities Assist residents with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility using safe lifting practices and equipment like Hoyer lifts. Administer prescribed medications accurately following established protocols and document all medication administration in electronic health record (EHR) systems while maintaining strict HIPAA confidentiality. Monitor and record vital signs, observe for changes in condition, and report any concerns promptly to nursing staff. Support residents with specialized needs including dementia care, Alzheimer's care, memory care, and behavioral health challenges with patience and compassion. Collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure comprehensive patient service and coordinate transfers or referrals using proper patient transfer methods. Maintain a clean, safe environment by adhering to aseptic techniques and infection control procedures aligned with hospital standards. Document medical records thoroughly and accurately using EMR/EHR systems such as Cerner or eClinicalWorks to ensure seamless continuity of care. Requirements Valid CNA certification or equivalent licensure required; medication aide certification preferred. Experience working with geriatric patients, individuals with developmental disabilities, or in long-term care facilities is highly desirable. Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and basic life support (CPR) certification is essential. Prior experience with EMR/EHR systems like Epic or Meditech is advantageous; familiarity with medical documentation standards is necessary. Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and handle manual transfers using appropriate patient transfer methods such as Hoyer lifts. Strong caregiver communication skills with a focus on patient-centered care and teamwork in fast-paced environments such as hospitals or urgent care settings. Demonstrated understanding of HIPAA regulations, patient confidentiality practices, and infection control procedures.
