Position Summary Under the direction of the Director of Nursing and licensed nursing staff, the Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) provides direct resident care and assists residents with activities of daily living. CNAs monitor residents' well-being, communicate changes in condition to the nursing team, and help create a safe, comfortable, and welcoming environment. Essential Responsibilities Provide compassionate, person-centered care to residents while preserving dignity and independence. Assist residents with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, grooming, oral hygiene, toileting, and personal care. Assist residents with transfers, repositioning, ambulation, and mobility using appropriate equipment such as gait belts, wheelchairs, walkers, and mechanical lifts. Answer resident call lights promptly and respond to resident needs with professionalism and compassion. Measure and accurately record vital signs, intake and output, weights, and other assigned observations. Assist with admissions, transfers, and discharges. Observe residents and promptly report changes in physical, emotional, or mental condition to the licensed nurse. Maintain resident rooms by making beds, changing linens, and ensuring a clean, safe environment. Assist residents with meals, hydration, and feeding as needed. Encourage residents to participate in activities that promote independence and overall well-being. Provide comfort measures and emotional support to residents and their families. Follow all infection prevention, OSHA, HIPAA, and resident safety policies. Maintain accurate documentation according to facility, state, and federal guidelines. Work collaboratively with nurses, therapists, physicians, and other interdisciplinary team members. Perform other duties as assigned Qualifications Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification in good standing on the New Jersey Nurse Aide Registry . High school diploma or GED preferred. Previous experience in long-term care, rehabilitation, assisted living, or skilled nursing is preferred but not required. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Compassionate, dependable, patient, and resident-focused. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced healthcare environment. Ability to safely lift, transfer, reposition, and assist residents throughout the shift. Ability to maintain resident confidentiality and comply with all HIPAA regulations. Must complete all required annual education and mandatory in-service training. Must maintain compliance with all state, federal, and OSHA regulations. Must support and maintain the dietary laws required to uphold our Kosher community.
