Key responsibilities include assisting with daily patient activities, monitoring vital signs, maintaining accurate medical documentation, and ensuring compliance with healthcare protocols. Responsibilities Provide direct patient care by assisting with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, feeding, and mobility support using appropriate transfer methods like Hoyer lifts. Monitor and record vital signs accurately, including blood pressure, temperature, pulse, and respiration rates. Support patients with specialized needs such as dementia care, Alzheimer's care, memory care, and behavioral health considerations. Maintain strict adherence to infection control protocols using aseptic techniques and proper manual handling procedures. Document patient interactions thoroughly within Electronic Health Record (EHR) or Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations. Assist healthcare professionals during procedures requiring sterile techniques or specialized equipment like catheters or wound care. Facilitate safe patient transfers and mobility using appropriate equipment while practicing safe lifting practices. Communicate effectively with patients, families, and interdisciplinary team members to ensure comprehensive care delivery. Support medication administration under supervision in accordance with facility policies. Participate in ongoing training related to critical care environments such as ICU or trauma centers when applicable. Requirements Valid CNA certification recognized by the State of New York or relevant licensing authority. Prior experience working in diverse clinical settings including hospitals (Level I Trauma Center experience preferred), long-term care facilities, assisted living communities, or home care environments. Demonstrated proficiency in EMR/EHR systems such as Cerner or eClinicalWorks. Experience working with geriatric patients and individuals with disabilities or developmental disorders. Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and basic life support (CPR). Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and execute safe manual handling practices. Strong communication skills tailored to caregiving roles across multidisciplinary teams. Familiarity with infection control standards and aseptic techniques. Flexibility to work various shifts including mornings, mids (midday), or evenings as scheduled. Commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA regulations. Minimum 1 year of experience working as a certified CNA Must be comfortable with dressing, bathing, transfers and hands-on resident care
Ratio:
