Job Description
Overview Join our dedicated healthcare team as a State Tested Nursing Assistant (STNA), where your compassionate care and attention to detail will make a meaningful difference in patients' lives. In this vital role, you will work closely with nursing staff to provide high-quality support across various healthcare settings, including long-term care facilities, hospitals, and community-based programs. Your expertise will help ensure patients receive respectful, personalized care that promotes comfort, safety, and dignity every day. Responsibilities Assist licensed nurses with patient care activities such as bathing, dressing, feeding, and mobility support using equipment like Hoyer lifts and other assistive devices. Support patients with activities of daily living (ADLs), including catheter care, medication administration under supervision, and basic hygiene routines. Assist with patient transfers and mobility using proper body mechanics and equipment like Hoyer lifts or gait belts. Document patient interactions thoroughly in medical records while respecting HIPAA regulations to ensure confidentiality and compliance. Skills Proven experience working as a Nursing Assistant in diverse environments such as hospitals (including emergency medicine, ICU, PICU), nursing homes, assisted living facilities, or home care. Knowledge of physiology and anatomy to assist effectively with patient assessments and basic medical procedures. Experience providing specialized care for individuals with dementia or Alzheimer's disease in memory or behavioral health settings. Ability to perform phlebotomy procedures and manage medication administration safely under supervision. Strong understanding of infection control practices including aseptic technique and handling infectious disease cases. Skilled in using medical equipment such as vital signs monitors, catheters, DME (durable medical equipment), and mobility aids like Hoyer lifts. Excellent communication skills to collaborate seamlessly with multidisciplinary teams across inpatient, outpatient, post-acute care, and community settings.
