Duties Assist patients with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility using proper techniques including manual handling and Hoyer lifts. Monitor and record vital signs accurately, including blood pressure, temperature, pulse, and respiration rates. Support medication administration under supervision, ensuring proper documentation in electronic health records (EHR) systems while maintaining patient confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Provide specialized care for patients with dementia or Alzheimer's disease, utilizing memory care strategies and dementia-specific protocols. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams in acute care environments such as ICU, emergency medicine departments, or Level I Trauma Centers to deliver timely patient support. Assist with medical procedures like catheter care or phlebotomy when trained and authorized. Maintain a safe environment by practicing aseptic techniques during patient care activities and adhering to infection control standards. Document all patient interactions thoroughly within electronic medical records (EMR/EHR) systems for accurate medical records management. Support patients with developmental disabilities or those requiring hospice or palliative care by providing compassionate assistance tailored to individual needs. Transfer patients safely using appropriate patient transfer methods and equipment while following safe lifting practices. Skills Proven experience working as a Nursing Assistant in settings such as long-term care facilities, hospitals, or assisted living communities. Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and basic life support (BLS) procedures including CPR. Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems like Cerner or eClinicalWorks for accurate medical documentation. Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations and maintaining strict patient confidentiality at all times. Ability to perform vital signs measurement accurately and recognize signs of patient distress or deterioration. Experience working with geriatric patients or individuals with complex health needs such as dementia or infectious diseases. Competence in using patient transfer methods including Hoyer lifts and manual handling techniques safely. Excellent caregiver communication skills to effectively collaborate with healthcare teams and provide empathetic patient service. Prior experience in critical care environments such as ICU or trauma centers is highly valued.
