Overview We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate State Tested Nursing Assistant (STNA) to join our caregiving team. This vital role involves delivering high-quality patient care in various settings, including long-term care facilities, assisted living communities, and home care environments. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in patient care, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to enhancing the well-being of our clients. Duties Provide direct patient care by assisting with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support. Monitor and record vital signs accurately, including blood pressure, pulse, respiration, and temperature. Support patients with medication administration under supervision and ensure proper documentation in electronic health records (EHR). Assist with patient transfers using safe lifting practices and equipment such as Hoyer lifts when necessary. Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations while managing medical documentation. Observe and report changes in patients' physical or mental health status to supervising healthcare professionals promptly. Support patients with specialized needs such as dementia care, Alzheimer's care, memory care, or individuals with developmental disabilities. Follow infection control protocols using aseptic techniques to prevent the spread of infectious diseases. Qualifications Valid State Tested Nursing Assistant (STNA) certification required. Prior experience working with geriatric patients or in long-term care facilities is highly preferred. Knowledge of medical terminology, vital signs measurement, and basic nursing procedures. Experience working with EMR/EHR systems for accurate documentation. Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with healthcare teams and caregivers. Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and utilize patient transfer methods appropriately. Familiarity with specialized care areas such as ICU, hospice, emergency medicine, or trauma centers is a plus. Commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA standards.
