In this vital role, you will provide essential support to nursing staff by assisting with daily patient care, ensuring comfort, safety, and dignity for individuals across various healthcare settings. Duties Assist patients with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support using proper manual handling techniques such as Hoyer lifts and safe lifting practices. Monitor and record vital signs accurately, including blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiration rates, maintaining detailed medical documentation.. Support medication administration under supervision, ensuring adherence to HIPAA regulations and maintaining patient confidentiality at all times. Provide specialized care for patients with dementia or Alzheimer's disease, including memory care strategies and engaging activities to promote cognitive function. Assist with patient transfers using appropriate transfer methods and equipment; support safe patient movement within hospital or long-term care environments. Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members to ensure comprehensive patient service and care coordination. Requirements Valid State Tested Nursing Assistant (STNA) certification or equivalent licensure. Prior experience working with geriatric patients or in long-term care facilities is highly preferred. Knowledge of medical terminology, vital signs monitoring, and basic life support (CPR) certification. Experience working with individuals with disabilities or developmental challenges is a plus. Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and adhere to safe lifting practices during patient transfers.
