Responsibilities Assist patients with daily activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, mobility, and feeding to promote independence and comfort Monitor and record vital signs including blood pressure, pulse, respiration, and temperature accurately using electronic health record (EHR) systems Support medication administration under the supervision of nursing staff while adhering to HIPAA regulations and maintaining patient confidentiality Implement specialized care protocols for individuals with dementia, Alzheimer's disease, or other memory impairments Operate patient transfer methods such as Hoyer lifts safely following proper manual handling techniques Maintain a clean and safe environment by following aseptic techniques during wound care or invasive procedures Document all patient interactions thoroughly in medical documentation systems like Cerner or eClinicalWorks Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members to ensure comprehensive care delivery Assist with medical procedures including phlebotomy or catheter care as trained and authorized Support emergency response efforts by applying basic life support (BLS) skills during urgent situations Requirements Valid CNA certification with active licensure in accordance with state regulations Experience working in diverse healthcare settings such as hospitals (including ICU, trauma centers), long-term care facilities, or home health environments Proficiency with EMR/EHR systems like Epic or Meditech for accurate medical documentation Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and infection control practices including aseptic technique Ability to perform heavy lifting safely using proper lifting practices and manual handling techniques Strong communication skills tailored for caregiver interactions with patients of all ages—including pediatrics—and their families Experience working with geriatric patients or individuals with disabilities is highly desirable Certification in CPR/BLS is required; additional certifications such as phlebotomy or hospice care are a plus Demonstrated ability to maintain patient confidentiality under HIPAA guidelines while managing sensitive medical records Join our team where your dedication transforms lives!
