Job Description
Overview We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated CNA/HHA Overnight Aide to provide exceptional care for an ALS client. This role requires a skilled individual who is committed to enhancing the quality of life for individuals with complex needs. The ideal candidate will possess experience in patient care, particularly in assisted living or home health environments, and have a strong understanding of medical terminology and caregiving practices. Duties Monitor and document vital signs to ensure accurate medical records are maintained. Utilize EMR/EHR systems for effective medical documentation and communication with healthcare providers. Implement care plans tailored to the specific needs of the ALS client, including memory care and dementia support. Utilize specialized equipment, such as Hoyer lifts, for safe patient transfers. Observe and report any changes in the client's condition or behavior to the supervising nurse or healthcare team. Provide personal care assistance with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting. Provide companionship and emotional support to enhance the client's overall well-being. Maintain a clean and safe environment by performing light housekeeping tasks, including laundry and meal preparation. Qualifications Compassionate demeanor with a genuine desire to help others in need. Certification as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) or Home Health Aide (HHA) is required. Proficiency in working with individuals with developmental disabilities or Alzheimer's disease is highly desirable. Experience in long-term care, nursing homes, or hospice care preferred. Familiarity with patient observation techniques and vital sign monitoring. CPR certification is a plus. Knowledge of medical terminology and HIPAA regulations is essential. Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively as part of a healthcare team. Flexibility to work overnight shifts as required.
