Certified Nurse Aides work closely with Registered Nurses, Licensed Practical Nurses, physicians, and other members of the healthcare team to support patients throughout their care experience. Under the supervision of an RN or LPN, the Certified Nurse Aide (CNA) performs basic patient care activities in accordance with applicable scope and standards of practice. This role provides essential support to patients and the nursing team while helping maintain a safe, efficient, and welcoming care environment. How you'll contribute A Certified Nurse Aide (CNA) who excels in this role:
  • Performs basic patient care activities under the supervision and direction of an RN or LPN.
  • Provides care in accordance with applicable scope and standards of practice.
  • Assists nursing staff in providing safe, efficient, and compassionate patient care.
  • Supports patients with basic care needs while promoting comfort, safety, dignity, and independence.
  • Observes patients and communicates relevant information or changes in condition to the appropriate nursing staff.
  • Works collaboratively with nurses, physicians, and other members of the healthcare team.
  • Maintains patient privacy and confidentiality when accessing demographic, clinical, insurance, financial, and medical record information.
  • Follows established infection prevention, bloodborne pathogen, and workplace safety procedures.
  • Maintains a safe and appropriate patient care environment.
  • Demonstrates effective communication and interpersonal skills when interacting with patients, families, visitors, and members of the healthcare team.
  • Provides age-appropriate support to patients across the lifespan, including neonates, infants, children, adolescents, young adults, middle adults, and older adults.
  • Performs duties in an environment where occupational exposure to bloodborne pathogens, blood and bodily fluids, hazardous medications, chemicals, and latex may occur.

          Additional requirements include:
            Education:
            High School diploma preferred.
              License/Certification:
              Certified Nursing Assistant in the state of practice required.
                Certification:
                Basic Life Support (BLS) required.
                  Preferred Certification:
                  Handle with Care preferred.
                  • Ability to work effectively under the supervision and direction of an RN or LPN.
                  • Ability to communicate effectively and work collaboratively with patients, families, and members of the healthcare team.
                  • Ability to meet the physical requirements of the position, including frequent standing, walking, repetitive hand and arm movements, and lifting or moving patients.
                  • Ability to safely work in an environment with potential exposure to biological and chemical hazards, blood and bodily fluids, hazardous medications, bloodborne pathogens, and latex.
