Support medication administration under supervision, adhering to HIPAA regulations and maintaining patient confidentiality at all times. Assist with patient transfers using safe transfer methods and equipment to prevent injury for both patients and staff. Maintain aseptic techniques during procedures like catheter care or wound management to prevent infection. Document all patient interactions thoroughly in electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Epic or Cerner, ensuring compliance with medical terminology standards. Collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary teams in settings like long-term care facilities, assisted living communities, or hospital environments including ICU or emergency medicine units. Support patients with developmental disabilities or behavioral health needs by providing respectful and tailored caregiving. Engage in ongoing training related to infectious disease care, hospice support, or trauma center protocols to enhance your skills and knowledge. Experience Previous experience working as a Certified Nursing Assistant in diverse healthcare settings such as hospitals (including Level I Trauma Centers), nursing homes, or outpatient clinics is highly preferred. Demonstrated proficiency in EMR/EHR systems like eClinicalWorks or Cerner for accurate medical documentation and records management. Experience with medical procedures such as phlebotomy or medication administration is advantageous. Knowledge of geriatrics, pediatric care, or home & community care environments enhances your ability to deliver comprehensive patient service. Familiarity with advanced patient transfer methods and safe lifting practices ensures optimal safety during patient handling. Critical care experience in ICU or Level II trauma centers provides a strong foundation for managing complex cases requiring acute attention and rapid response. Certification in basic life support (BLS) or CPR is required; additional certifications like DME (Durable Medical Equipment) training are a plus.
