The Caregiver/CNA or PCA provides essential hands-on care and support to residents, assisting with daily activities to promote independence, transfers, ambulation, comfort, and well-being. This role requires kindness, patience, and a commitment to enhancing the quality of life for seniors.
Job Responsibilities:
Assist residents with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting and mobility. Aid with meal service and feeding as needed, ensuring residents receive proper nutrition. Monitor resident's conditions and report any changes in health, behavior, or well-being to nursing staff. Assist with transferring and positioning residents safely using proper body mechanics and transfer equipment. Support residents with social engagement and companionship to enhance their overall well-being. Maintain accurate documentation of care provided, including vital signs and daily observations. Follow infection control, safety, and hygiene protocols to maintain a clean and healthy environment. Respond promptly and compassionately to resident's call bells and requests for assistance. Assist in keeping resident rooms, common areas, and equipment clean and organized. Collaborate with nurses, caregivers, and other team members to ensure high-quality care.
Qualifications:
Previous experience in senior living, long-term care, or healthcare is preferred. Strong communication and interpersonal skills to build positive relationships with residents, families and staff. Ability to work effectively in a team environment. Compassionate, patient and dedicated to providing care to seniors.
