About the Role As a CNA, you will provide essential daily care to residents experiencing mental or physical illnesses, disabilities, mobility limitations, or difficulty completing activities of daily living. You will work under the direction of licensed nursing professionals while helping residents remain safe, comfortable, respected, and engaged in their care. What You'll Do Responsibilities may include: Providing compassionate, hands-on care to ambulatory and non-ambulatory residents Assisting with bathing, grooming, dressing, toileting, and personal hygiene Supporting residents with mobility, positioning, transfers, and ambulation Assisting with meals, hydration, and nutrition Taking and recording vital signs Observing residents and promptly reporting physical, emotional, or behavioral changes Assisting nursing staff with routine resident-care activities Encouraging participation in prescribed rehabilitation, recreation, and daily activities Maintaining clean, safe, and comfortable resident areas Documenting care accurately in the electronic medical record Following infection-control and standard-precaution procedures Promoting dignity, independence, privacy, and respectful interactions Communicating effectively with residents, families, nurses, and other team members Participating in required training and continuing education Expert-Level Expectations The selected CNA should be highly knowledgeable in direct-care practices and capable of: Providing guidance within the CNA scope of practice Answering routine resident-care questions Troubleshooting concerns involving activities of daily living Recognizing changes in a resident's condition and reporting them promptly Applying safe transfer, positioning, and mobility techniques Remaining calm and professional in challenging situations Supporting consistent, respectful, and person-centered care Collaborating effectively with clinical and direct-care personnel Minimum Qualifications Candidates must meet one of the following experience requirements: One year of paid experience caring for geriatric or physically ill patients or residents Candidates must also have: Active Pennsylvania Nurse Aide certification and registration through the Pennsylvania Department of Health A high school diploma or equivalent Proficiency in written and spoken English Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office The ability to document resident care in an electronic medical record Strong communication, teamwork, and safety-awareness skills The ability to provide verifiable education, training, certification, and employment history The ability to work the scheduled 3:00 p.m•11:00 p.m. shift Physical Requirements Candidates must be able to: Perform routine physical and direct-care duties Assist with resident positioning, transfers, and mobility Lift or move items and equipment used in resident care Stand and walk for extended periods Respond promptly to resident needs Follow applicable safety, infection-control, and emergency procedures Additional facility-specific screening, clearances, competency testing, and training may be required.
