9673253-02840 Job Description Make a difference in students daily experience as a Certified Nurse Assistant in a supportive school environment near beautiful Newport, RI. This vital role offers the opportunity to work full-time (32.5 hours per week) in either elementary or middle school settings, providing care and assistance that help students succeed academically and personally.

Responsibilities and Duties:

Deliver direct 1:1 care or function as a classroom assistant, ensuring each students safety, health, and engagement throughout the school day. Support classroom activities, working closely with teachers and staff to implement learning and care plans. Assist with personal care, mobility, and health monitoring as outlined in student care plans. Aid students with diverse needs to participate fully in educational activities. Maintain accurate records of care, observations, and communication with staff and families. Demonstrate a proactive and flexible approach, readily adapting to classroom and individual student needs. Willingly schedule and prepare for a parapro or Teacher Assistant (TA) certification exam, as required for this position.

Qualifications:

Active and valid CNA license is required. Prior experience as a Certified Nurse Assistant, especially in a pediatric, educational, or special needs environment, is preferred. Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams. Enthusiastic about working as a classroom para or 1:1 aide, supporting student independence and inclusion. Committed to following district policies, confidentiality requirements, and care protocols. Willingness to pursue additional certification (parapro or TA exam).
