GED CNA Full Job Description What We Offer:
Provides and documents assistance to patients with activities of daily living and maintenance of a safe and clean environment under the direction and supervision of a registered nurse.
Assisted Living units only:
Responsible for assisting residents with activities of daily living as scheduled and reporting any change in status to the Charge Nurse Shift /
Schedule:
Three 12-hour night shifts (7:00 PM - 7:00 AM), including every other weekend.
What We're Looking For:
Education:
High school diploma, required. Completion of NAI program, required.
Experience:
One year of relevant experience, preferred. One year required, Assisted Living facilities only: experience working in long-term care or assisted living
Licensure/Certification:
Completion of NAI program, Required. Listed with the nurse aide registry as an NA I, Required. Medication Safety - AME, Required. NC state approved curricula for restrictive interventions (facility specific) within 3 months of hire for Emergency Departments and Behavioral Health units, Required.
Additional skills preferred:
Basic computer skills for documentation.
What You'll Do:
Provide compassionate direct patient care, including assistance with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, grooming, feeding, toileting, and mobility. Assist with patient transfers, positioning, ambulation, and range of motion exercises using safe body mechanics and appropriate equipment. Obtain, document, and report vital signs, blood glucose, intake/output, height, weight, and other patient observations. Support patient nutrition, hydration, elimination, and specimen collection while maintaining accurate documentation. Assist with admissions, transfers, discharges, patient transport, and orientation to the care environment. Perform basic clinical procedures within scope, including surgical skin preparation, application of heat/cold therapy, EKG lead placement, compression devices, wound care assistance, postmortem care, and patient mobilization as directed. Monitor patient condition and promptly communicate changes, abnormal findings, incidents, or concerns to the nursing team. Maintain a clean, safe, and organized patient care environment by following infection prevention, safety, and equipment cleaning protocols. Restock patient care supplies and ensure secure handling of medications in accordance with organizational policies. Perform additional approved CNA I Plus 4 skills after required training and competency validation, as applicable. Foster a collaborative, patient-centered environment by working effectively with interdisciplinary team members and providing exceptional customer service. Perform Medical Unit Receptionist (MUR) responsibilities and Assisted Living support duties, when assigned, in accordance with department needs and organizational standards.
