Responsibilities Assist patients with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility to promote independence and dignity Take and record vital signs including blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiration rates with accuracy and professionalism Support medical procedures by preparing patients and assisting with tasks like catheter care, wound care, or basic medication administration under supervision Maintain detailed and compliant medical documentation using Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems, ensuring patient confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA regulations Transfer patients safely using equipment such as Hoyer lifts or other patient transfer methods while adhering to safe lifting practices Observe and report changes in patient condition or behavior promptly to nursing staff, especially in critical care environments like ICU or trauma centers Engage in infection control practices through aseptic techniques and proper hand hygiene to prevent the spread of infectious diseases Provide compassionate emotional support to patients with dementia or memory care needs, including those receiving hospice or palliative care Requirements Valid certification as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) from an accredited program Proven experience working with diverse populations such as geriatrics, pediatrics, or individuals with disabilities in settings like long-term care facilities, assisted living, or hospitals Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems like Cerner or eClinicalWorks for accurate medical documentation Knowledge of medical terminology, physiology, and basic life support (BLS) certification required; CPR certification preferred Experience working in specialized environments such as ICU, emergency medicine, trauma centers (Level I & II), or post-acute care is highly valued Ability to perform manual handling tasks including heavy lifting and safe patient transfers using appropriate equipment Strong communication skills for caregiving interactions and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams Commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality and adhering to HIPAA standards at all times Join us in delivering exceptional patient-centered care!
