to become a Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (RPSGT). You will be trained to perform sleep studies and durable medical equipment (DME) set ups. Your background as an EMT/Paramedic, Medical Assistant, Nursing Assistant, Patient Care Tech, or phlebotomist is applicable to this rewarding field. Minimum qualifications:
- Must be willing to work nights (7pm to 7am shifts), including weekends
- Graduate of accredited EMT / Paramedic, Medical Assistant, or Nursing Assistant program; or
- Candidates with college coursework in closely-related field (medical/healthcare, Pre-Med, Biology, Chemistry) will also be considered
- Stable work experience (i.e., at least 2 years with one company); Exceptions can be made for recent graduates
- Excellent communication skills
- Strong patient advocate
- Positive attitude
- Authorized to work in the U.S.
- Valid Driver's License and Auto Insurance
- Reside within reasonable commuting distance of Chattanooga, Tennessee 37421 Preference will be given to candidates with night-shift experience.
- Duties may include, but are not limited to:
- DME; Mask-fitting, PAP set up, supplies, inventory
- Demonstration/ education of: PAP, Home Sleep Test equipment, Sleep Profiler
- Polysomnography lab duties based on experience and training; Performing and scoring sleep studies (Nocturnal Polysomnography, PAP titrations, Maintenance of Wakefulness Tests, Mean Sleep Latency Tests, oximetry, oxygen entrainment, seizure montage, REM behavior disorder montage, etc)
