Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a compassionate and energetic Church Nursery Attendant to create a warm, safe, and engaging environment for young children during Sunday morning church services, Wednesday night programing, and related activities. In this vital role, you will oversee the care and supervision of infants, toddlers, and preschool-aged children, ensuring their safety while fostering a nurturing atmosphere that promotes early childhood development. Your enthusiasm and dedication will help children feel loved and secure as they begin their spiritual journey. Responsibilities Supervise children in the nursery area, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times Engage children with age-appropriate activities that promote learning, socialization, and spiritual growth Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming nursery environment in compliance with health and safety standards Communicate effectively with parents or guardians regarding their child's needs, behavior, or concerns Follow established policies for child supervision, behavior management, and emergency procedures Administer basic first aid or pediatric first aid when necessary, including handling minor injuries or illnesses Collaborate with church staff to plan and implement developmental activities aligned with early childhood education principles Experience Prior experience working with children in a childcare setting such as daycare, preschool, or babysitting is highly preferred Knowledge of childhood development stages and age-specific needs for infants through preschoolers Experience working with individuals with disabilities or special needs is a plus Familiarity with classroom management techniques and behavior management strategies Strong communication skills for parent interaction and teamwork within the church community Demonstrated ability to follow mandated reporting laws related to child safety and welfare Join us in nurturing young hearts, minds, and spirits! Pay:
$16.00 - $18.00 per hour Expected hours: 4.0 - 10.0 per week
