Job Description

Office Nurse (LPN or Certified Medical Assistant) www.gihealthcare.com Gastrointestinal Associates is a gastroenterology practice which specializes in the diagnosis and care of disease and conditions affecting the digestive system. Our practice currently consists of 15 board certified Gastroenterologists and 10 Advanced Practice Practitioners. We are currently searching for full-time clinical staff. Our office nurses and CMAs/RMAs work with our providers in a clinical setting. We offer clinical care in 3 locations - Dowell Springs, Parkside Drive, and Emory Road. Our nurses and CMAs/RMAs are responsible for assessing patients, scheduling testing, providing patient education and rendering medical care under the supervision of a physician or nurse practitioner. Hours worked are typically 8:00 am - 5:00 pm Monday through Friday, with a one-hour lunch break. We are closed on the weekends and all major holidays. We offer paid holidays after 30 days of full time employment.
Some Key responsibilities are:
Answer telephone calls regarding current concerns patients may have and communicating with the providers, answering patient questions, providing instructions for scheduled diagnostic testing, using e-scribe to prescribe or refill medications Assisting the practitioners in a clinical setting, scheduling endoscopic procedures and other testing, reviewing preparation instructions for testing and assisting the provider with physical examination Entering data into our EMR, electronically filing incoming correspondence and/ or records, faxing records Administering injections, provide medication samples under the supervision of a practitioner and filling out forms for prior approval of certain medications.
