Full Job Description Description:
Under the supervision of the Charge Nurse and Director of Nursing, the Hospitality Aide performs non-direct resident care duties within the scope of nursing assistant experience and assists in maintaining a positive physical and psychosocial environment for residents.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Transport laundry barrels to the laundry room; retrieve and stock clean linens; make unoccupied beds and maintain fully stocked linen carts. Clean and sanitize water pitchers; ensure fresh water is available at residents' bedsides. Offer water, juices, and hydration snacks in accordance with resident diets to those able to drink independently. Clean wheelchairs, beds, nursing equipment, resident personal hygiene items, and other items as directed. Promptly clean spills, including urine or bowel excretions, to maintain a safe environment. Follow all safety guidelines and properly use equipment; report equipment needing service or repair immediately. Assist with pre- and post-meal grooming, including hand and face washing, and escort residents to and from the dining room. Answer call lights promptly and determine whether requests fall within non-direct care responsibilities. Support oral hygiene by setting up tooth brushing, providing denture care, and helping maintain oral cleanliness. Assist with transporting residents to and from activities and meals; walk with ambulatory residents or transport via wheelchair as needed. Follow resident assignments and schedules as directed by the Charge Nurse. Performs other duties as assigned
Requirements:
Must be able to interact positively with residents, families, and regulatory agencies, and work collaboratively with employees at all levels. Must be able to maintain consistent attendance and be willing to work long or irregular hours, often under pressure.
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to lift at least 50 pounds and remove assistive devices as needed to clean equipment properly. Must comply with all local health regulations and successfully complete a post-offer health assessment. Must be able to perform the essential functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodation. Physical and Sensory Requirements (with or without the use of mechanical devices): Ability to read, write, and speak fluent English to communicate effectively with residents, families, staff, and community agencies. Ability to perform physical activities such as walking, reaching, bending, stretching, pulling, and lifting. Adequate fine and gross motor coordination to carry out required tasks.
Work Environment:
Long-term care facility setting. Exposure to residents with varying levels of care needs. May include evenings, weekends, holidays, and on-call shifts.
