Full Job Description Current Openings:
PT Day Shift (7am-3pm) weekends and weekday shifts FT Evening Shift (3pm-11pm), rotating weekends PRN - Day / Evening Shift This Is Not Your Average Caregiving Job Golden Oasis Assisted Living is a small, nurse-owned residential care home. We house up to 6 seniors — and we treat every single one of them like family. That means the work here is personal. You will know your residents by name, by preference, by mood. You'll know how residents take their coffee and the residents that don't like to be rushed in the morning. This isn't a facility where you clock in, complete tasks, and disappear. This is a home. We are looking for caregivers who are compassionate, accountable, and operate with integrity — even when no one is watching. Especially when no one is watching. What This Job Actually Looks Like We'll be straight with you: this work is hard. Some days are deeply rewarding. Some days are physically and emotionally demanding. You need to be prepared for both. On any given shift, you may be:
  • Bathing, grooming, and dressing residents who need full or partial assistance — this includes personal hygiene care that requires patience, gentleness, and zero judgment
  • Administering medications accurately and on schedule, and documenting everything correctly — this is a non-negotiable responsibility
  • Monitoring vital signs (blood pressure, temperature, pulse, respirations) and flagging any changes to the nurse on duty
  • Cooking and preparing meals that are nutritious, appealing, and meet dietary needs — this is a home, not a cafeteria
  • Light housekeeping and laundry — keeping the home clean, tidy, and a place residents are proud to live in
  • Providing companionship — sitting with someone who is lonely, listening when someone needs to talk, being a calm, steady presence for a person who may be confused or afraid
  • Supporting residents with dementia and memory care needs, which requires patience, de-escalation skills, and the ability to meet people where they are
  • Documenting care activities using our electronic health record system Some shifts will be physically demanding.
You may assist with mobility, transfers, and incontinence care. You will encounter moments that are emotionally heavy. This is the reality of caring for aging adults — and we need someone who can handle it with grace. Who We're Looking For This role is not for everyone — and that's okay. We are specifically looking for someone who:
  • Shows up. Consistently. On time. Even when it's hard. Our residents count on continuity — calling out regularly is not something we can accommodate.
  • Takes ownership. If something isn't right, you say something. You don't ignore it and let the next shift deal with it.
  • Serves with integrity. You treat every resident with the same dignity and respect you'd want for your own parent or grandparent.
  • Can handle the messy parts. Caregiving involves bodily functions, difficult behaviors, and emotional moments. If you're not ready for that reality, this isn't the right fit — and that's okay.
  • Communicates clearly. With residents, with family members, and with our team. We are small, which means every person matters.
  • Wants to grow with us. We are building something intentional at Golden Oasis. We want team members who are invested in our residents and in our mission, not just a paycheck. Minimum Qualifications
  • At least 1 year of hands-on caregiving experience (required) — assisted living, nursing home, group home, or in-home care
  • Certified Nursing Aide/Assistant preferred (or willingness to obtain)
  • Ability to administer medications accurately and document per state regulations
  • Experience with or willingness to learn EMR/EHR documentation systems
  • Ability to perform physical tasks including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods
  • Valid ID and ability to pass a background check What We Offer
  • Competitive hourly pay: $15.00 - $17.00/hour based on experience
  • Paid orientation — we set you up to succeed before your first solo shift
  • Free parking
  • A small, team-oriented environment where your work is seen and valued
  • The opportunity to be part of a growing, nurse-led care home where your input matters A Word From Our Owner "I built Golden Oasis because I believe our seniors deserve more than a bed and a medication pass.
They deserve to be known, cared for, and honored. I'm looking for team members who share that belief and will bring it to work every single day — not just when it's easy." — Kamala Richmond, RN | Founder, Golden Oasis Assisted Living How to Apply If this posting resonated with you — if you read the hard parts and still said "I can do this" — we want to hear from you.
