Job Overview We are seeking a compassionate and detail-oriented Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) for our hospice team, working exclusively during the morning shift. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in patient care within various healthcare settings, including hospice, long-term care, or hospital environments. This role offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference by providing respectful and supportive care to our patients in their homes or care facilities. Duties Assist patients with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support using safe lifting practices and assistive devices like Hoyer lifts. Monitor and record vital signs accurately, including blood pressure, pulse, respiration, and temperature, ensuring timely documentation within electronic health record (EHR) systems. Support medication administration under supervision and ensure proper handling of medical supplies and equipment in compliance with HIPAA regulations and infection control protocols. Provide emotional support and companionship to patients, respecting their dignity and cultural preferences while fostering a calm environment. Collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary team members to develop and implement individualized care plans tailored to each patient's needs. Maintain patient confidentiality at all times by adhering strictly to HIPAA guidelines and safeguarding medical records. Assist with transfers and mobility using appropriate techniques to prevent injury for both patients and staff. Experience Prior experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or in dementia/memory care settings is highly desirable. Demonstrated proficiency in electronic health records (Consolo) management and medical documentation practices. Experience in hospice care or end-of-life support roles is preferred; however, candidates with backgrounds in critical care, ICU, emergency medicine, or hospital medicine are encouraged to apply. Knowledge of medical terminology related to geriatrics, palliative care, and complex medical conditions such as infectious diseases or trauma is advantageous. Strong caregiving skills combined with excellent communication abilities enable effective interaction with patients of all ages and their families.
