Duties Assist patients with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility to promote independence and comfort. Monitor vital signs including blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiration, accurately documenting findings in electronic health records (EHR) systems. Support medication administration under supervision, ensuring proper handling and adherence to safety protocols. Maintain a safe environment by using proper manual handling techniques and equipment such as Hoyer lifts for patient transfers. Observe and report changes in patient condition or behavior promptly to nursing staff, especially in critical care or behavioral health settings. Follow infection control procedures using aseptic techniques to prevent the spread of infectious diseases. Assist with medical procedures such as catheter care, wound dressing changes, or specimen collection like phlebotomy when trained and authorized. Requirements Valid certification as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) from an accredited program. Experience working with diverse populations including geriatrics, pediatrics, individuals with developmental disabilities, or those requiring dementia or memory care. Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and basic life support (CPR). Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Epic or Cerner is preferred. Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and use patient transfer methods effectively. Strong communication skills to collaborate with patients, families, and healthcare team members effectively. Prior experience in long-term care facilities, hospitals (including ICU or trauma centers), hospice care, or outpatient clinics is highly desirable.
