Responsibilities The Lead CNA / Central Supply Coordinator is responsible for providing and coordinating high-quality, person-centered care to residents in a skilled nursing facility while supporting the nursing department through effective CNA leadership and central supply management. This position serves as a lead resource for Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs), assists nursing leadership with maintaining quality resident care, and ensures that necessary medical and personal-care supplies are properly stocked, organized, and available. The Lead CNA / Central Supply Coordinator promotes resident safety, infection prevention, regulatory compliance, teamwork, and efficient daily operations. Principal Responsibilities CNA Leadership Responsibilities Serve as a lead and resource for CNAs assigned to the unit or shift. Assist nursing staff with coordinating CNA assignments and ensuring resident care is completed timely and appropriately. Monitor completion of scheduled resident-care tasks and report concerns to the licensed nurse or nursing supervisor. Promote accountability, teamwork, professionalism, and respectful communication among CNA staff. Assist with orientation, training, and mentoring of newly hired CNAs. Demonstrate proper resident-care techniques and reinforce facility policies and procedures. Assist with identifying staffing or resident-care concerns and communicate them promptly to nursing leadership. Help maintain a clean, safe, and organized resident-care environment. Support compliance with facility quality measures and regulatory requirements. Encourage effective communication during shift report and throughout the shift. Central Supply Responsibilities Coordinate and maintain the facility's central supply inventory. Ensure nursing units have adequate supplies to meet daily resident-care needs. Monitor inventory levels and maintain established par levels. Order or request replenishment of medical, nursing, PPE, personal-care, and other resident-care supplies as authorized. Receive, inspect, organize, and properly store supplies. Maintain clean, orderly, and appropriately labeled supply rooms. Monitor expiration dates and rotate supplies using appropriate inventory-control practices. Remove expired, damaged, or compromised supplies according to facility policy. Conduct routine inventory counts and maintain accurate inventory records. Identify trends in supply usage and communicate unusual increases or shortages to management. Distribute supplies to nursing units and other departments as needed. Communicate supply shortages, backorders, or urgent needs to the appropriate supervisor or purchasing personnel. Follow infection-control and storage requirements for medical supplies and equipment. Assist with preparation for state surveys, audits, and internal quality-assurance reviews related to supply storage and availability.
