  • At Freedom Healthcare Inc., we are a home health agency committed to providing compassionate and exceptional care to our community Veterans in need. We are in need of personnel that can come to a Veteran's home and help the Veterans with skilled care and assist them with their daily activities.
  • Responsibilities:
  • Personal Care Assistance:
  • Help clients with personal hygiene, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting. Ensure clients maintain their dignity and comfort during these activities.
  • Mobility Support:
  • Assist clients with walking, using wheelchairs, and transferring from bed to chair or vice versa. Apply appropriate safety measures to prevent falls and injuries.
  • Medication Reminders:
  • Remind clients to take their prescribed medications at the appropriate times. Record and report any concerns or reactions to medications to a supervisor or healthcare professional.
  • Companionship:
  • Provide emotional support and companionship to clients. Engage in meaningful conversations and activities that promote mental stimulation and social interaction.
  • Meal Preparation:
  • Prepare nutritious meals and snacks according to dietary guidelines and client preferences. Assist clients with feeding if necessary and ensure proper nutrition and hydration.
  • Housekeeping:
  • Perform light housekeeping tasks to maintain a clean and safe living environment for clients. This may include making beds, doing laundry, and tidying up living area.
  • Errands and Transportation:
  • Accompany clients to medical appointments, shopping, and other errands as needed. Ensure clients' safety and comfort during transportation.
  • Monitoring and Reporting:
  • Observe clients' physical and mental conditions regularly and report any significant changes or concerns to the healthcare team. Maintain accurate records of care provided and clients' progress.
  • Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
  • Certified with the State of Texas.
  • Certification in CPR/ BLS and First Aid.
  • Previous experience in personal care, healthcare, or a related field is advantageous but not required.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Compassionate nature and a genuine desire to help others.
  • Ability to handle physical tasks such as lifting and supporting clients.
  • Reliable and punctual with a strong sense of responsibility.
  • Must pass a background check.
  • Working Conditions:
  • Work is typically performed in clients' homes or living facilities.
  • Flexible working hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, may be required to meet the needs of clients.
  • Physical demands include standing, walking, bending, and lifting as necessary.
