Role:

The Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA) plays a vital role in providing compassionate and high-quality care to residents within a Skilled Nursing Facility. This position focuses on assisting patients with their daily living activities, ensuring their comfort, safety, and dignity at all times. The CNA collaborates closely with nursing staff and other healthcare professionals to monitor patient conditions and report any changes promptly. Through attentive care and effective communication, the CNA contributes significantly to the overall well-being and recovery of residents. Ultimately, this role is essential in maintaining a supportive and healing environment within the healthcare and social assistance setting.

Minimum Qualifications:

Current and valid Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA) certification as required by state regulations. Completion of a state-approved CNA training program. Basic knowledge of patient care techniques and safety procedures. Ability to pass a background check and meet health screening requirements. Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience working in a Skilled Nursing Facility or long-term care environment. CPR and First Aid certification. Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems. Additional training in dementia or Alzheimer s care. Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary healthcare team.

Responsibilities:

Assist residents with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, grooming, and feeding. Monitor and record vital signs, such as temperature, pulse, respiration, and blood pressure, accurately and timely. Provide mobility assistance to residents, including transferring, repositioning, and ambulation support. Observe and report any changes in residents physical or emotional condition to nursing staff promptly. Maintain a clean, safe, and comfortable environment for residents by following infection control and safety protocols. Support nursing staff with medical procedures and documentation as required. Communicate effectively with residents, families, and healthcare team members to ensure coordinated care.

Skills:

The required skills in Skilled Nursing Facility care are applied daily to ensure residents receive attentive and personalized support with their health and hygiene needs. Effective communication skills enable the CNA to interact compassionately with residents and collaborate efficiently with nursing staff. Observation and reporting skills are critical for monitoring patient conditions and ensuring timely interventions. Knowledge of safety and infection control protocols is essential to maintain a secure environment for both residents and staff.
