This role offers an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of seniors, individuals with disabilities, and those requiring specialized memory and dementia care. As a vital member of our caregiving team, you will deliver personalized support that promotes independence, safety, and comfort while adhering to home healthcare regulations and maintaining strict confidentiality. Your energy, empathy, and professionalism will help create a positive environment for each client you serve. Responsibilities Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and mobility support using patient transfer methods and equipment like Hoyer lifts. Monitor patient health by observing vital signs, managing medication administration, and reporting changes in condition promptly. Provide specialized care for clients with Alzheimer's disease, dementia, or other memory impairments through tailored memory care techniques. Maintain accurate medical documentation using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) or EHR (Electronic Health Records) systems while ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations to protect patient confidentiality. Support clients with light housekeeping tasks including cleaning, laundry, meal preparation, and ensuring a safe living environment. Assist with medical procedures such as catheter care and basic life support when necessary; perform first aid and CPR in emergencies. Facilitate effective communication with clients and their families to ensure personalized care plans are followed and needs are met. Experience Prior experience working as a caregiver in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or home healthcare settings is highly preferred. Demonstrated experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or those requiring hospice or end-of-life care. Familiarity with medical terminology, patient transfer methods, and medical documentation practices is essential. Experience using EMR/EHR systems for accurate record keeping and reporting is advantageous. Knowledge of home health care regulations and safety protocols including HIPAA compliance is required. Proven ability to handle heavy lifting safely and operate equipment such as Hoyer lifts or patient transfer devices. Strong communication skills for engaging effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams while maintaining professionalism at all times.
