Responsibilities Assist residents and patients with daily activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility, ensuring dignity and respect at all times Monitor vital signs including blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiration; document findings accurately in electronic health records (EHR) systems Support medication administration under supervision, following strict protocols to ensure safety and compliance with HIPAA regulations Utilize patient transfer methods such as Hoyer lifts and manual handling techniques to promote safe mobility and prevent injury Observe and report changes in patient condition or behavior promptly to nursing staff using clear medical documentation Maintain infection control standards through aseptic techniques and proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) Provide emotional support and effective communication tailored to individuals with dementia or developmental disabilities, fostering a caring environment Qualifications Valid Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification required; active state license preferred Experience working with geriatric patients in long-term care facilities or nursing homes is highly desirable Knowledge of medical terminology, vital signs monitoring, and basic life support (BLS) certification is preferred Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR/EHR systems) such as Epic or Cerner enhances your ability to document accurately Strong caregiving skills with excellent communication abilities; compassionate approach toward patients with dementia or behavioral health needs Ability to perform heavy lifting safely using proper lifting practices; physically capable of assisting with patient transfers and manual handling tasks Prior experience in assisted living, hospice care, ICU, emergency medicine, or hospital settings is advantageous This role is designed for energetic caregivers eager to make a positive impact while working in a supportive environment that values your skills and dedication.
