Support patient transfers using appropriate techniques and equipment such as Hoyer lifts or transfer belts to ensure safety for both patients and staff. Maintain patient confidentiality by adhering to HIPAA regulations and ensuring all medical documentation is accurate and up-to-date within electronic health record (EHR) systems. Observe and report any changes in patient condition or behavior promptly to nursing staff for immediate action. Assist with specialized care procedures such as catheter care, wound dressing changes, or basic phlebotomy when trained and authorized. Follow infection control protocols using aseptic techniques to prevent the spread of infectious diseases in compliance with hospital or long-term care standards. Requirements Valid certification as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) from an accredited program. Experience working with diverse patient populations including geriatrics, individuals with developmental disabilities, or those requiring memory or dementia care is preferred. Knowledge of medical terminology, vital signs measurement, and basic patient care techniques. Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR/Epic/eClinicalWorks) systems for documentation purposes. Ability to perform manual handling tasks safely and effectively while following safe lifting practices. Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members. CPR certification and basic life support (BLS) training are required; additional certifications such as HIPAA compliance or medication administration are advantageous.
