Director of Nursing / Charge Nurse Position Summary Bayou Pines Care Center is seeking compassionate, dependable, and dedicated Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs) to join our nursing team. The CNA is responsible for providing direct resident care and assisting residents with activities of daily living while promoting their dignity, comfort, safety, and quality of life. CNAs work closely with licensed nurses and other members of the interdisciplinary team to ensure residents receive consistent, respectful, and high-quality care. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Provide direct care to residents in accordance with their individualized care plans. Assist residents with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and personal hygiene. Assist with feeding and hydration as directed. Answer call lights promptly and respond appropriately to resident needs. Assist with transferring, repositioning, and ambulating residents using appropriate safety techniques and equipment. Obtain and document vital signs, weights, intake and output, and other required measurements. Observe residents for changes in condition and promptly report concerns to the nurse. Maintain accurate and timely documentation of resident care. Provide incontinent care and maintain residents' cleanliness and comfort. Make beds and maintain clean, safe, and organized resident rooms. Assist residents with meals and encourage proper nutrition and hydration. Participate in resident activities and promote social interaction and emotional well-being. Follow infection control procedures and facility safety policies. Follow all HIPAA and resident confidentiality requirements. Treat residents, families, visitors, and coworkers with professionalism and respect. Assist with admissions, discharges, and transfers as directed. Attend required in-service training and staff meetings. Work cooperatively with nurses, therapists, dietary staff, activities staff, and other members of the care team. Perform other duties as assigned by the Charge Nurse, Director of Nursing, or Administrator. 12-Hour Shift Expectations Because this position works 12-hour shifts , CNAs are expected to: Arrive on time and be prepared to begin work at the scheduled start time. Complete assigned resident care throughout the entire shift. Communicate important resident information during shift report. Maintain appropriate staffing coverage throughout the shift. Complete all required documentation before the end of the shift. Assist with end-of-shift duties and ensure residents' needs are addressed before leaving. Follow the facility's call-in, attendance, and scheduling policies. Qualifications Current Texas CNA certification required. Previous experience in a skilled nursing or long-term care facility preferred. Must demonstrate compassion, patience, dependability, and professionalism. Ability to communicate effectively with residents, families, and members of the healthcare team. Ability to follow written and verbal instructions. Ability to safely perform physical requirements of the position, including standing, walking, lifting, transferring, and repositioning residents. Physical Requirements The CNA position requires the ability to: Stand and walk for extended periods. Frequently bend, stoop, kneel, reach, and assist with resident mobility. Assist with lifting, transferring, and repositioning residents according to safe patient-handling procedures. Respond promptly to resident needs and call lights.
