•Evening shift 2pm-10pm Job Summary We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Nursing Assistant to provide high-quality patient care across various healthcare settings. The ideal candidate will have experience working with diverse patient populations, including geriatrics, pediatrics, and individuals with disabilities or complex medical needs. This role involves supporting nursing staff by performing essential patient care tasks, maintaining accurate medical documentation, and ensuring a safe and comfortable environment for patients. Candidates with experience in long-term care, acute care, or specialized areas such as ICU, emergency medicine, or hospice are highly valued. The Nursing Assistant will be instrumental in promoting patient well-being while adhering to strict confidentiality and safety protocols. Duties Assist patients with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, feeding, and mobility assistance using appropriate transfer methods such as Hoyer lifts. Monitor and record vital signs accurately and report any abnormalities to nursing staff promptly. Support patients with medication administration under supervision, ensuring compliance with prescribed treatments. Maintain patient safety by following proper infection control procedures, aseptic techniques, and safe lifting practices. Document all patient interactions and care provided using Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems such as Epic, Cerner, or eClinicalWorks. Support patients with special needs including dementia care, Alzheimer's care, memory care, behavioral health needs, and those requiring specialized equipment like catheters or DME devices. Assist in patient transfers and mobility within the facility while maintaining proper body mechanics. Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members to coordinate care plans and ensure patient comfort. Follow HIPAA guidelines to maintain patient confidentiality at all times. Participate in ongoing training related to medical terminology, emergency procedures such as CPR/BLS, and other relevant certifications. Qualifications Certification as a Nursing Assistant (CNA) is required; additional certifications such as CPR/BLS are preferred. Experience working with geriatric patients, pediatric populations, or individuals with disabilities is highly desirable. Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems like Epic, Cerner, or eClinicalWorks is advantageous. Knowledge of medical terminology and anatomy relevant to patient care. Ability to perform manual handling tasks safely and efficiently while adhering to safe lifting practices. Strong communication skills for caregiving and interdisciplinary collaboration. Ability to work effectively in fast-paced environments such as ICU, trauma centers (Level I & II), urgent care clinics, or hospital settings. Experience working with infectious disease protocols or in specialized units like PICU or hospice is a plus. Must demonstrate professionalism in maintaining patient confidentiality according to HIPAA regulations. Flexibility to work various shifts as needed; prior experience in home & community care or outpatient clinics is beneficial.
