Responsibilities Assist patients with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility, including the safe use of equipment like Hoyer lifts and wheelchairs. Monitor and record vital signs, including blood pressure, temperature, pulse, and respiration rates, accurately documenting all patient information in electronic health records (EHR) systems such as Epic or Cerner. Support medical procedures by preparing patients for treatments, assisting during medication administration, and maintaining aseptic techniques to prevent infection. Provide specialized care for individuals with dementia or Alzheimer's disease, including memory care strategies and behavioral health support. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams in various settings such as hospitals—including ICU, trauma centers, PICU, and emergency departments—long-term care facilities, assisted living communities, hospice environments, outpatient clinics, and home care. Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations by safeguarding patient confidentiality during all documentation and communication processes. Assist with medical documentation tasks such as recording patient histories, updating medical records, and managing medical terminology accurately. Requirements Valid CNA certification recognized by state licensing boards; additional certifications such as Basic Life Support (BLS) are preferred. Proven experience working in diverse healthcare environments including hospitals (Level I & II trauma centers), nursing homes, assisted living facilities, or home health care. Hands-on experience with EMR/EHR systems like Epic, Cerner, eClinicalWorks or similar platforms for accurate patient data management. Knowledge of physiology and anatomy principles relevant to patient care across age groups—including pediatrics and geriatrics—and familiarity with medical-surgical procedures. Ability to perform tasks requiring physical stamina such as lifting patients with Hoyer lifts or assisting with transfers safely. Strong understanding of infection control practices including aseptic techniques and infectious disease care protocols.
