CNA Job Description About Viking Hospice At Viking Hospice, we are committed to providing compassionate, high-quality end-of-life care to patients and their families. Our interdisciplinary team works together to ensure comfort, dignity, and support during every stage of the hospice journey. We are currently seeking a caring and dependable certified nursing assistant (CNA) to join our hospice team. Job Summary The Hospice Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) provides direct personal care and supportive services to hospice patients under the supervision of a registered nurse. The CNA assists patients with activities of daily living while promoting comfort, dignity, and quality of life in accordance with the individualized plan of care. Responsibilities Provide personal care, including bathing, dressing, grooming, oral hygiene, and toileting. Assist patients with ambulation, transfers, positioning, and range of motion exercises. Observe, report, and document changes in the patient's physical or emotional condition to the supervising nurse. Assist with feeding and meal preparation as appropriate. Maintain a clean, safe, and comfortable environment for patients. Accurately document all care provided according to agency policies and regulatory requirements. Offer compassionate emotional support to patients and their families. Follow the hospice plan of care established by the interdisciplinary team. Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with all HIPAA, infection control, and safety standards. Attend required staff meetings, training, and in-services. Qualifications Current Texas Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification. Minimum of one year of CNA experience preferred. Previous hospice, home health, long-term care or skilled nursing experience preferred. Current CPR certification. Valid Texas driver's license, reliable transportation, and current car insurance. Ability to travel throughout the Sugar Land service area. Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
