In this vital role, you will provide compassionate, hands-on care to patients across various settings, ensuring their safety, comfort, and well-being. You will be an essential part of a dynamic team committed to delivering exceptional patient care and fostering a supportive environment for both residents and staff. This position offers an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of individuals requiring specialized care, including those with complex medical needs and chronic conditions. Responsibilities Assist patients with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility using appropriate techniques and equipment like Hoyer lifts. Monitor and record vital signs accurately, including blood pressure, temperature, pulse, and respiration rates, ensuring timely documentation in electronic health records (EHR) systems. Support medication administration under supervision, following strict protocols to ensure patient safety and compliance with HIPAA regulations. Provide specialized care for individuals with dementia or memory impairments, including Alzheimer's and other cognitive disorders, utilizing memory care best practices. Collaborate with nursing staff to deliver comprehensive patient care in diverse settings such as long-term care facilities, assisted living communities, hospitals—including ICU and trauma centers—and outpatient clinics. Maintain aseptic techniques during procedures like catheter care or wound management to prevent infection and promote healing. Assist with medical procedures such as phlebotomy or specimen collection when trained and authorized. Support patients with complex needs related to behavioral health conditions or infectious diseases while adhering to safety protocols and infection control standards. Requirements Valid certification as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) in good standing. Prior experience working in healthcare environments such as hospitals (including ICU or emergency medicine), nursing homes, assisted living facilities, or home care is highly preferred. Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems like Epic, Cerner, eClinicalWorks, or similar platforms for accurate medical documentation. Knowledge of medical terminology, physiology, anatomy, and basic life support (BLS) certification. Experience providing care for individuals with disabilities or developmental challenges is advantageous. Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team in fast-paced settings requiring critical thinking and compassionate communication.
