At DayBreak Senior Services, being a CNA is about so much more than completing a list of care tasks. Our CNAs spend their days building genuine relationships, laughing and talking with participants, leading activities, going on community outings, supporting individuals living with dementia, and helping families through the caregiving journey. With a staff-to-participant ratio that never exceeds 1:6, our CNAs have the opportunity to slow down, get to know the people they serve, and provide truly person-centered care. What You'll Do No two days at DayBreak are exactly the same. As a CNA, you'll help participants feel safe, connected, engaged, and supported throughout their day.
Your responsibilities will include:
Build meaningful relationships with participants through conversation, encouragement, humor, and engagement. Provide person-centered care that respects each participant's preferences, abilities, culture, and life experiences. Assist with toileting, incontinence care, mobility, transfers, hydration, meals, and other activities of daily living as needed. Help lead and participate in recreational, cognitive, social, therapeutic, and community-based activities. Support participants during outings and community engagement opportunities. Provide dementia-informed support, reassurance, redirection, and engagement throughout the day. Observe and report changes in a participant's condition, mood, behavior, or functioning. Complete required documentation, care logs, and incident reports accurately and on time. Communicate professionally and compassionately with caregivers and families. Participate in daily team meetings and ongoing staff education and dementia-care training. Help maintain a clean, organized, welcoming, and safe environment. Assist with participant transportation when authorized and qualified to drive DayBreak vehicles. Follow DayBreak policies, licensing requirements, safety standards, and established care practices.
