Duties Assist residents and patients with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, grooming, mobility, and toileting to promote independence and comfort Monitor vital signs including blood pressure, pulse, respiration, and temperature; document findings accurately in electronic health records (EHR/EHR systems) Support medication administration under supervision, ensuring proper handling and adherence to HIPAA regulations for patient confidentiality Provide emotional support and companionship to residents with dementia or memory care needs, fostering a safe and engaging environment Use manual handling techniques and equipment such as Hoyer lifts to safely transfer patients with mobility challenges Observe and report any changes in residents' conditions or behaviors to nursing staff promptly Maintain a clean, safe environment by following infection control protocols, aseptic techniques, and safe lifting practices Qualifications Valid Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification required; prior caregiving experience preferred Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or dementia care is highly desirable Knowledge of medical terminology, vital signs measurement, and basic life support (CPR) certification required Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems such as Cerner or eClinicalWorks is a plus Strong communication skills for effective caregiver-patient interactions and teamwork Ability to perform heavy lifting safely while adhering to safe lifting practices Prior experience in long-term care facilities, assisted living communities, or hospital settings is advantageous Demonstrated understanding of HIPAA regulations and maintaining patient confidentiality This role is perfect for compassionate caregivers eager to provide exceptional patient-centered care in a vibrant healthcare environment.
