Responsibilities Assist patients with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility to promote independence and comfort. Monitor and record vital signs including blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiration rates with accuracy and attention to detail. Support medical procedures by preparing patients, maintaining aseptic techniques, and assisting with tasks like catheter care or wound dressing changes. Document patient information thoroughly in electronic health records (EHR/Epic systems), ensuring confidentiality and compliance with HIPAA regulations. Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members to coordinate care plans and address individual needs. Use patient transfer methods such as Hoyer lifts safely and efficiently to prevent injury during mobility assistance. Maintain a clean, safe environment by adhering to infection control protocols and safe lifting practices. Qualifications Valid Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification in good standing. Experience working with diverse patient populations including geriatrics, pediatrics, individuals with developmental disabilities, or those requiring memory or dementia care. Knowledge of medical terminology, vital signs measurement, and basic life support (CPR). Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR/Epic systems) and medical documentation standards. Prior experience in long-term care facilities, hospitals, assisted living communities or home care settings is highly desirable. Ability to perform manual handling tasks such as heavy lifting while maintaining safe lifting practices. Strong communication skills with a compassionate approach to caregiving and patient service.
