Summary of Position:
In collaboration with the Dean of Nursing, the Assistant Dean of Nursing will provide leadership in the planning, development, implementation, and evaluation of the Nursing Program. This involves assisting with recruitment, and hiring of new faculty, creating course schedules, facilitating curriculum development, participating in program evaluation, assisting in the resolution of student and faculty issues. Possible teaching duties as needed. Will interact regularly with other departments at the college with the respect to the needs of the Nursing Program. Serves as the Dean of Nursing in his/her absense.Summary of Essential Duties:

Current active unencumbered licenses as an RN or APRN in the state of VA or multistate privilege to practice in VA Graduated from an approved professional nursing program; MSN required, DNP preferred. At least 5 years of practice experience as an RN/APRN At least 2 years of higher education teaching in a professional nursing education program At least 1 year of experience in management Competent in personal computer applications: MS Office Suite Excellent written and verbal communication and analytical skills Ability to serve as a positive, supportive, and enthusiastic role model for the studentsClassification:
Exempt, salaried position Work hours: 40 hours per week, but hours may vary daily and include evening/weekend hoursSalary:
