One-on-one care in clients' homes and community settings Position Overview Irie Home Health is seeking dependable, compassionate, and professional caregivers to provide one-on-one support to clients in their homes and community settings . Applicants may have experience as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), Personal Care Aide (PCA), Certified Medical Assistant (CMA), Medication Technician (Med Tech), Patient Care Technician (PCT), Direct Support Professional (DSP), caregiver, or similar patient-care role . Certification is preferred but not required for all positions. Irie Home Health offers PCA certification/training when necessary for qualified candidates. Applicants must have at least one year of patient care, personal care, caregiving, direct support, behavioral health, or similar hands-on experience . Our clients may have a variety of physical, behavioral, and support needs. Candidates must be comfortable providing respectful and professional care to individuals with developmental or intellectual disabilities, mental health needs, and/or a history of substance use . Job Duties & Responsibilities Duties will vary based on each client's individualized needs and plan of care and may include: Providing one-on-one supervision, companionship, and personal care Assisting with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, grooming, dressing, toileting, and personal hygiene Assisting with mobility, transfers, positioning, and ambulation as appropriate Preparing or assisting with meals Providing medication reminders within the appropriate scope of the position Performing light housekeeping related to client care, including laundry, linens, dishes, and maintaining a clean and safe living environment Assisting clients with establishing and maintaining healthy daily routines Providing appropriate supervision and redirection when necessary Supporting clients with developmental, intellectual, behavioral, or mental health needs Using professional communication and appropriate de-escalation techniques when clients become upset, frustrated, or emotionally distressed Encouraging independence, community involvement, and appropriate social interaction Observing clients for changes in behavior, physical condition, or overall well-being and reporting concerns appropriately Maintaining accurate and timely documentation of services provided Following each client's established plan of care and agency procedures Maintaining client privacy, dignity, confidentiality, and professional boundaries Accompanying clients on approved outings and community activities Accompanying or transporting clients to medical appointments, grocery shopping, errands, and other approved destinations when required by the assignment Following infection-control, emergency, and safety procedures Immediately reporting incidents, injuries, emergencies, behavioral concerns, or other significant changes to the appropriate supervisor Performing additional supportive or personal-care duties within the individual's authorized role and the client's plan of care Schedule & Hours We are currently seeking Full-Time, Part-Time, and PRN candidates . Available hours may range from approximately 8 hours per week up to 40 hours per week , depending on: Your availability Current client needs Available assignments Client scheduling requirements Assignments may include day, evening, overnight, weekday, and weekend hours . Because home health schedules are based on individual client needs, specific hours and the number of hours available may vary and are not guaranteed .Minimum Requirements Candidates must:
Have at least 1 year of patient care, caregiving, personal care, behavioral health, direct support, or similar experience Be able to successfully complete and pass all required background checks and screenings Be comfortable working with individuals with developmental and/or intellectual disabilities Be comfortable working with individuals with mental and behavioral health needs Be comfortable providing services to individuals who may have a current or previous history of substance use Be comfortable working independently in clients' private homes Be comfortable providing one-on-one client care Be dependable, professional, patient, compassionate, and nonjudgmental Maintain appropriate professional boundaries with clients Be comfortable accompanying clients on community outings and appointments Have reliable transportation to and from client assignments Be willing and able to travel to assigned client homes Maintain appropriate communication and documentation Follow client care plans, safety procedures, and agency requirements Be physically capable of performing the responsibilities associated with the assigned client's care Successfully complete all required onboarding and training CNA, PCA, CMA, Med Tech, PCT, DSP, or similar certification is preferred but not required. This position is currently classified as a 1099 independent contractor opportunity and is not a W-2 employee position. Independent contractors are responsible for their own applicable federal, state, and local tax obligations. We are looking for caregivers who are comfortable supporting individuals from a variety of backgrounds and with varying levels of physical, developmental, behavioral, and mental health needs. Because many assignments involve working independently with a client one-on-one, reliability, patience, professionalism, good judgment, communication, and accurate documentation are essential.
