Job Description
Job Overview Nurse Next Door McLean is a licensed home care agency dedicated to delivering high-quality, compassionate in-home care to seniors throughout Northern Virginia. We are currently seeking dependable and compassionate caregivers who understand and respect East and Southeast Asian cultures and elder-care values. Our clients value patience, dignity, and gentle communication. This role is ideal for individuals who take pride in providing thoughtful, respectful, and family-oriented care while maintaining the highest standards of professionalism. As a Caregiver, you will play a vital role in helping clients maintain their independence, safety, and quality of life in the comfort of their own homes. Key Responsibilities Assist clients with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and mobility assistance. Provide companionship and emotional support while promoting dignity, respect, and independence. Prepare nutritious meals according to clients' dietary needs and preferences. Perform light housekeeping duties, including laundry, dishwashing, changing bed linens, and maintaining a clean living environment. Assist with medication reminders as outlined in the care plan. Accompany clients to appointments, errands, and community outings as needed. Deliver culturally respectful care that promotes dignity, comfort, and emotional well-being. Follow individualized care plans and agency policies and procedures. Safely operate and handle caregiving equipment when required. Observe, document, and promptly report any changes in a client's physical condition, behavior, or emotional well-being. Maintain accurate, timely, and compliant care documentation. Ensure strict adherence to HIPAA regulations and maintain client confidentiality. Communicate professionally with clients, families, supervisors, and other healthcare professionals. Required Qualifications Previous experience as a Caregiver, CNA, PCA, HHA, or in a similar home care role is preferred. Experience caring for seniors with dementia or Alzheimer's disease is highly preferred. Compassionate, patient, dependable, and respectful approach to senior care. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Strong observational skills and attention to detail. Reliable, organized, and committed to providing exceptional client care. Cultural awareness and sensitivity toward East and Southeast Asian traditions, customs, and family values. Ability to lift, transfer, and assist clients safely when required. Ability to pass all required background checks and employment screenings. Required Driving Qualifications Valid U.S. driver's license is required. Reliable personal vehicle is required. Current automobile insurance is required. Must be willing and able to travel between client homes throughout Northern Virginia. Clean driving record preferred. Preferred Qualifications CNA, PCA, HHA, or equivalent caregiver certification. Current CPR and First Aid certification. Experience providing home care services in a private residence.
