Job Description
Job Overview Join our compassionate team as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) / Caregiver to assist a male client located in Sandbridge, VA 23456. Responsibilities Assist patients with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support using patient transfer methods and equipment such as Hoyer lifts. Monitor and observe patients' conditions by performing patient observation, recording vital signs, and reporting changes to healthcare professionals promptly. Support medication administration under supervision, ensuring proper documentation in electronic health record (EHR) systems while maintaining patient confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA regulations. Provide specialized care for individuals with dementia or Alzheimer's disease, including memory care techniques and engaging activities to promote cognitive function. Assist with medical procedures such as catheter care, wound care, and basic first aid or CPR in emergency situations. Maintain a clean and safe environment by assisting with cleaning, laundry, meal preparation, and ensuring adherence to home healthcare regulations. Communicate effectively with clients and their families to address needs, preferences, and concerns while fostering trust and understanding. Requirements Valid certification as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) or equivalent caregiving credential. Prior experience working in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or home healthcare settings is highly preferred. Knowledge of medical terminology, patient personal care assistance, and medical documentation practices. Experience working with geriatric patients or individuals with developmental disabilities or dementia is advantageous. Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and operate patient transfer equipment such as Hoyer lifts. Current CPR and First Aid certifications; ongoing training in basic life support is a plus. Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems for documentation; understanding of home health care assistance protocols. Strong communication skills, compassion for patient-centered care, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
