Job Description

Gardening Team Lead Pay:
$23
  • $25 per hour Job description: The gardening team at Horsford's keeps the display gardens well-maintained and planted as well as maintaining private gardens at various residences and businesses.
Depending on the season, this crew spends about half of their time on Horsford Grounds and half their time planting and maintaining gardens off the premises. Daily activities could include watering, weeding, deadheading, planting perennials, annuals and shrubs. The crew performs spring and fall clean-ups on Horsford's grounds as well as off-site at various client properties. In May, the garden team works to plant annuals in Burlington, Vergennes, Milton and Essex. There are also a few private gardens they tend to on a weekly basis. This can be challenging work but the end result is truly rewarding. Positive attitude, attention to detail and experience or interest in horticulture is highly sought after. Dependability and the ability to work independently is a must. The Gardening Team is 2-3 people in total. The Lead is responsible for managing the crew, scheduling with clients, handling some billing/admin, attending weekly manager meetings, and maintaining quality both on and off the nursery property. Managerial experience is preferred. Work Conditions
