Job Summary and Responsibilities As our Patient Transporter, you will provide essential assistance and transportation for patients and related items across our campus, ensuring a highly customer-sensitive and seamless experience. Every day you will promptly and safely transport inpatients and outpatients to and from various hospital areas. You will meticulously confirm patient identification, greet and assist in transferring patients, and make conscious observations of patient condition during transport, reporting any issues to appropriate personnel. You will also maintain a clean and organized work area and report any malfunctioning equipment. To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate a strong commitment to patient safety and exceptional customer service for all individuals within our facility. You will be attentive, observant, and capable of performing duties efficiently while upholding the highest standards of care and professionalism. Accepts and follows through on patient care tasks delegated by the nurse, technologists, Lead Transporter, Radiologists/RPA, and Supervisor. Ensures efficient delivery of patient care and reflects effective utilization of resources. Performs within the boundaries of nursing certification and uses good judgment when performing patient care duties. Monitors patient response to activity and reports to Imaging nurse or nursing staff. Transports patients safely to the imaging department at the request of the Technologist, Radiologist or other hospital staff. Transports patients back to their rooms upon completion of examination and ensures that the patient is hooked up to all devices that were removed for transport. Informs appropriate personnel (RN, CNA Tele Tech) of the patient's return. Assists technologists and the Imaging nurse in positioning and moving patient, utilizing necessary lift systems. Maintains clean linen supply. Monitors blanket warmer and restocks when needed. Stocks patient necessities (blankets, sheets, pillow cases, etc) in all modality rooms and internal changing rooms. Disinfects all gurneys and wheelchairs on a regular basis. Ensures equipment is properly stored when not in use. Monitors oxygen bottles and procures replacements as needed. Delivers specimens to the laboratory as needed.
Job Requirements Required High School Graduate or GED Certified Nursing Assistant:
WA Basic Life Support - CPR, within 30 days of hire
