Responsibilities Assist patients with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support using equipment such as Hoyer lifts and transfer methods Take and record vital signs accurately, including blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiration rates Support patient care by monitoring conditions, reporting changes promptly to nursing staff, and maintaining detailed medical documentation within electronic health record (EHR) systems like Epic or Cerner Follow strict aseptic techniques and infection control protocols to ensure patient safety and prevent the spread of infectious diseases Provide specialized care for individuals with dementia or Alzheimer's disease, including memory care techniques and behavioral health support Assist with medical procedures such as catheter care, medication administration under supervision, and phlebotomy when trained and certified Maintain patient confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA regulations while handling sensitive medical records and documentation Collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams in hospital medicine, long-term care facilities, assisted living communities, or home & community care environments Support emergency situations by applying basic life support (BLS) skills and participating in urgent or trauma-related care as needed Skills Proven experience working with geriatric patients, individuals with developmental disabilities, or those requiring specialized dementia or memory care Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems such as Epic, Cerner, eClinicalWorks or similar platforms for accurate medical documentation Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology relevant to patient assessment and care procedures Ability to perform heavy lifting safely using proper manual handling techniques; experience with equipment like Hoyer lifts is highly valued Strong caregiver communication skills to effectively interact with patients, families, and healthcare teams across various settings including hospitals—Level I & II trauma centers—and outpatient clinics Experience working in diverse environments such as ICU, emergency medicine, pediatrics—including PICU—and post-acute or sub-acute care settings Certification in CPR/BLS is required; additional certifications like phlebotomy or medication administration are advantageous Demonstrated understanding of HIPAA compliance and maintaining patient confidentiality at all times Join us in delivering exceptional patient service through compassionate caregiving!
