ASC - Night Shift Job Summary The Certified Nursing Assistant performs a variety of activities, including clinical and administrative, under the direction of a licensed Healthcare Provider in the Plastic Surgery Northwest Surgery Center. Provides support to the ASC team as directed by ASC Manager. This includes but is not limited to, assisting with discharging surgical patients, cleaning pre- and post-operative areas and ORs, assisting in medical emergencies, escorting patients to the bathroom, escorting patients to their vehicles after discharge, maintaining daily laundry which may include running the washing machine, folding and putting away the clean scrubs, and other duties as assigned. Works with others in a collaborative, multi-disciplinary team environment. Assists ASC nursing staff with caring for post-op patients, taking vitals, and changing instructions. 10. Assists ASC nursing staff with placing vital machine equipment. 11. Assists ASC staff with the cleaning of pre/post-operative areas after discharge of patients. 12. Cleans and sterilizes materials/instruments following universal precautions and maintains autoclave and cleans soaking trays. 13. Stock pre/post-operative areas as needed. 14. Escorting patients to the bathroom. 15. Assists with any medical emergencies. 16. Escorts post-surgical patients to their vehicles following discharge. 17. Launder staff scrubs and patient care items as needed. 18. Enters notes into patient charts as needed. 19. Provides shift coverage during hours of patient care. 20. Provides excellent customer service to all patients. 21. Participates in staff development and promotes team cohesiveness. 22. Communicates as needed with physicians and team members about the patient's clinical condition per privacy laws. 23. Maintains current Washington State-recognized certification. 24. Respect and maintains the privacy and dignity of patients and assure patient confidentiality at all times. 25. Performs other duties as required. Education/Experience:
Two years of applicable experience in a medical facility Ability to work effectively in a team environment including but not limited to all PSNW staff, Employed Physicians, Physician Owners, and the Board of Directors. Ability to work effectively as the representative of the organization with government agencies and the general public. Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
Certificates/Licenses:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must: Have a valid state Nursing Assistant Certification Have a valid Driver's License. Successfully pass background checks applicable to the position.
