Nursing Assistant Job Description Job Summary We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Nursing Assistant to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will provide essential support to nursing staff and assist patients with daily living activities. This role is crucial in ensuring the comfort and well-being of patients, particularly in settings focused on senior care, and dementia care. Duties Assist patients with personal hygiene, grooming, and bathing. Provide catheter care and support for patients requiring specialized assistance. Administer medications as directed by nursing staff and monitor patient responses. Support patients with mobility, including transferring them to and from beds or wheelchairs. Experience with hoyer and stand lifts. Conduct routine checks on vital signs and report any changes to the nursing staff. Assist with feeding patients who require help during meals. Maintain a clean and safe environment for patients by adhering to infection control protocols. Document patient care activities accurately in medical records. Provide companionship and emotional support to patients, especially those with developmental disabilities or dementia. Qualifications Certification as a Nursing Assistant or equivalent training is preferred. Knowledge of anatomy and basic medical terminology. Experience in senior care or home care settings is highly desirable. Familiarity with medication administration protocols. Ability to perform phlebotomy tasks when required. Compassionate attitude towards working with individuals with developmental disabilities. Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively within a team. Physical stamina to perform duties that may require lifting or prolonged standing.
