Certified Nursing Assistant - Periop (PM)

The Certified Nursing Assistant work closely with the Registered Nurses, Physicians, and Anesthesiologists within the perioperative department of the surgery center. They are to assist with getting a patient prepped for surgery, which includes shaving and scrubbing of operative site, checking vital signs, and assisting the Anesthesiologist with a perioperative nerve block per Physician protocol. The Certified Nursing Assistant will assist the Registered Nurse in the post-anesthesia care unit and post-operative phases of care with maintaining a patient's airway as needed and will be responsible for helping patients with ADLs such as dressing, cleaning, and ambulation, among other clinical and housekeeping tasks. This position is a 0.8 FTE (32 hours per week)

Education and Experience:

A valid State of Wisconsin Nursing Assistant Certification is required. Must be BLS Certified within six (6) months of hire and maintain certification throughout employment. Prior experience in an ASC or operating room environment is strongly preferred.
