A Nursing Assistant provides hospital and nursing home patients with basic care and assists them with daily activities. Helps patients with dressing, washing, and feeding. Part-Time / Weekend Caregiver About the Role We are seeking a compassionate, reliable, and highly experienced Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) to provide dedicated 1-on-1 care in a private home setting over the weekend. Our family/care team deeply values dignity, safety, and meaningful connection. Because of the specific needs involved, hands-on experience with both dementia and Parkinson's disease is strictly required. We need a caregiver who truly understands the physical and cognitive nuances of these conditions and brings patience, empathy, and consistency every shift.
Core Responsibilities Personal Care & Mobility Support:
Assist with safe transfers (utilizing proper body mechanics/gait belt), mobility assistance, dressing, grooming, and hygiene.
Specialized Condition Management:
Safely manage mobility challenges related to Parkinson's (such as freezing gait or tremors) and navigate cognitive changes, confusion, or agitation associated with dementia using redirection and gentle validation.
Routine & Meal Assistance:
Prepare light meals, prompt timely medication, and maintain a calm, structured routine.
Companionship:
Engage in soothing activities, conversation, and active listening. Key Requirements (Non-Negotiable)
Active Certification:
Current CNA or equivalent professional caregiving credential.
Proven Experience:
Direct, verifiable experience supporting individuals diagnosed with Parkinson's disease and dementia/Alzheimer's .
Dependability:
Absolute reliability and punctuality—our weekend routines depend on a caregiver who shows up consistently and on time.
Transportation:
Must have a valid driver's license, clean driving record, and personal reliable transportation .
Qualities:
Patient, calm under pressure, attentive to detail, and warmly engaged.
