Job Description

Overview We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong commitment to patient care, excellent communication skills, and a thorough understanding of various clinical environments. As a CNA, you will play a vital role in providing direct patient support, assisting with daily activities, and ensuring the comfort and safety of our diverse patient population. Responsibilities Assist patients with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility to promote independence and dignity. Monitor and record vital signs including blood pressure, pulse, respiration, and temperature accurately within electronic health record (EHR) systems. Support medical staff by preparing patients for examinations or procedures, including positioning and basic equipment setup. Maintain patient confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA regulations while documenting care activities thoroughly and accurately. Utilize proper manual handling techniques and equipment such as Hoyer lifts to ensure safe patient transfers and prevent injury. Observe patients for changes in condition or behavior, reporting any concerns promptly to nursing staff or physicians. Adhere strictly to infection control protocols and aseptic techniques to prevent the spread of infectious diseases. Provide specialized care for patients with complex needs including dementia, Alzheimer's disease, or those requiring memory or hospice care. Requirements Valid CNA certification with current licensure in the relevant state or region. Prior experience working in healthcare environments such as hospitals, nursing homes, assisted living facilities, or home care settings. Knowledge of medical terminology, vital signs measurement, and basic life support (BLS) certification. Experience working with diverse patient populations including geriatric patients, individuals with developmental disabilities, or those requiring specialized memory care. Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems such as Epic, Cerner, or eClinicalWorks for accurate medical documentation. Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and utilize patient transfer methods effectively while maintaining proper body mechanics. Strong communication skills coupled with compassionate caregiving abilities to foster positive relationships with patients and team members. Demonstrated understanding of HIPAA regulations and commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality at all times.
