Responsibilities Deliver direct patient care by assisting with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, feeding, and mobility support using safe lifting practices and equipment like Hoyer lifts. Monitor vital signs including blood pressure, pulse, respiration, and temperature to track patient health status accurately. Maintain detailed medical documentation within Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems while respecting patient confidentiality and adhering to HIPAA regulations. Support patients with specialized needs such as dementia care, Alzheimer's care, or memory care, ensuring a safe and comforting environment. Assist clinical staff with procedures including catheter care, medication administration under supervision, phlebotomy, and aseptic techniques for infection control. Transfer patients safely using appropriate patient transfer methods and equipment while practicing manual handling techniques. Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members to promote understanding and deliver personalized care. Qualifications Valid certification as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) in accordance with state requirements. Experience working with diverse populations including long-term care residents, geriatric patients, or individuals with developmental disabilities. Knowledge of medical terminology, vital signs measurement, and basic life support (CPR). Prior experience in settings such as hospitals (including ICU or trauma centers), nursing homes, assisted living facilities, or home care is highly desirable. Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems like Epic or Cerner is preferred to ensure accurate medical documentation. Strong caregiving skills combined with excellent communication abilities to foster trust and rapport with patients of all ages. Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and maintain physical stamina for long shifts involving manual handling tasks.
